TOMBOY !!

In my younger years I loved the water. So much so that when asked by my parents, I would give them so much grief about coming out of the water.

Oh my Gosh!! I have a dress on.
This is my youngest brother, Gary, with me.

My brother Dennis, visited Jersey City, New Jersey not to long ago in 2004, and took some pics the red house on the left is where my Grandmother Potter lived. The middle picture below and the 2nd picture on the next line were both taken in her backyard. The other picture is where we lived on Palaside Ave, it had 3 floors and it had a spiral staircase. It is so hard to believe that these houses are still standing.

The first picture is my brother, Dennis, on our mom's lap, and my oldest brother, David, next to her.
The second picture is the camera ham, yes me, lol.
The third picture is my Dad and me ,telling me its time to leave the picnic area and no more swiming today.

This is my other brother Wayne, and me on a sleigh ride in the middle of winter. He looks like he is going to be cold. But on the other hand I used to run outside in the snow barefooted. Brrrr.
The second picture is me and my first cousin,Brian. The two of us used to spend a lot of time at my grandmother's house in Jersey City.

Oh My Gosh!!! Here I am with no shirt on. The second picture is my brother David, and I. The third picture is my grandma's dog, and I on the swing. Taken at my grandma's house.

Yippee!!!! This is my brother, Dennis, and I . One of my favorite things to do was to dress up like a cowgirl. I am so glad my mom let us have this picture taken. I still can remember begging her to let us do it. Again my brother, Dennis Westhoff , took a picture of the firehouse where this picture was taken in front of it. (the one of me on the horse.)

Here are some pictures of my high school life. I played clarinet in Afton High School. I also was on the champion Girls Volleyball team in Afton.

I attended Binghamton Central, and graduated from there in 1968.

I graduated with a degree in Accounting from Ridley Lowell, in 1970.

In June of 1971 I got married to Douglas Ticknor, had two wonderful childern. I couldn't take the way my ex would treat me and the children, so after about 16 years I got a divorce. And things became much better.

I then realized that marriage was not for me. I felt like the lost puppy below who never caught the ball. Where would my life go from here? I realized that I had to be strong for my two childern, they needed me they where only 11,and 8.

And thus ,with the help of my friend Patty, and myself my two childern grew up to be two wonderful adults whom I am very proud of.

The Rainbow Flag

The flag has become a recognized symbol of the gay and lesbian community. It began in the 1970's during the Gay Pride marches. Today it is recognized throughout US and Europe as a symbol of pride. The six colors of the rainbow represent the diversity of the lesbian/gay community.
